Biography:
Giovanni Ruggero Stefenanso was born on March 1, 1920, in Brooklyn, New York. Prior to the start of the Second World War, rumors were running rampant in Washington D.C. over the technological advances the Nazi Regime was making to military weaponry, space travel, and thanks to the work of one of Dr. Cotton's top protégés, the human genome. In an effort to level the playing field, the military sent a covert band of soldiers to Germany. Their task was to infiltrate a secretive enemy base located deep within the Bavarian Alps, abduct this mad scientist, and return him unharmed to the States. The mission was a success, and with the Nazi collaborator, Dr. Wilhelm Kaiser in their custody, the United States embarked on a human enhancement program of their own. Given an exorbitant amount of money to buy his patriotic loyalty, the good doctor was placed in charge of a secretive technology division of the government that combined both the military and private sectors. In future years, people would come to call this evil conglomerate the Military Industrial Complex. With the inevitability of war on the horizon, their first order of business was to start a top-secret project geared towards genetically enhancing the human genome in an attempt to make an unstoppable army.

For Giovanni Ruggero Stefenanso, the results and physical transformation he had undergone were astounding. Just as Dr. Kaiser had promised, the virus had completely rewritten his genetic code. Over one night of extreme hell, his body was able to rebuild itself. By morning, he had seemingly morphed into a Greek god.

Most of the missions the military sent Giovanni Ruggero Stefenanso on during World War II were clandestine in nature. Not only did he have to contend with the few Nazi Super Soldiers that Dr. Kaiser had created before his abduction, but he also had to face an alien threat and stop the creation of a Japanese atomic bomb. A battle against Kismet occurred during an army excavation in the mountains of Greece. While Kismet managed to escape the fracas with an abundance of adamant weapons that he was sent to find and collect, Giovanni Ruggero Stefenanso was able to snag an unbreakable shield that a captured Nazi archaeologist believed was once the property of the mighty Zeus. In addition to the mythological artifact in his possession, Giovanni Ruggero Stefenanso also learned on the mission that the fallen angels from the bible were real, as he slayed several in combat, and that the Olympians from mythology actually walked the earth at one point in time.

After the war, an incident known as the Philadelphia Experiment transported Giovanni Ruggero Stefenanso into the modern world. To keep the few distant relatives that were still alive out of harm's way from any newfound enemies, he changed the Italian spelling of his name and now uses only the English variation.
Today, John Roger Stevens remains stuck in an unrecognizable world, and his battle continues against the Black League, Majestic 12, the secret government, and the evil forces trying to enslave the human race.
